What if I already have a domain name registered?

"What if I already have a domain name registered? Can I transfer my existing domain name to a Virtual Server?"

You can still use the Virtual Server with an existing domain name. But you will need to have your current name service modified such that it will point to your Virtual Server. You can move the service over one of two ways:

  1. Get your current domain name provider to update his name records to point to the IP address of the Virtual Server which we will provide you.
  2. [We recommend this option] Modify the domain to use our domain name servers. Specific information for modifying a domain name to use our name servers is available on the DNS Central web site. To activate the domain on your virtual server, you will need to send a request to service@digitaldaze.com listing the domain and the virtual server to add it to.

How long do modify requests take?

After your name server changes have been submitted to the root name server authority, it could take from 24 to 72 hours for the new name server information to propogate to all of the independently operated name servers all around the world.
